Orange Agate Carnelian Chick, Bird & Dalmatian Stone Egg with Nest, Hand Carved

How sweet is this?  It looks like it was just plucked from a tree but you don't have to worry about these chicks hatching and flying away. This is a hand-carved orange Agate nestled next to an egg-shaped Dalmatian Stone. This would make a cute gift, that is if you don't keep it for yourself.

Dalmatian Stones are often called Dalmatian Jasper but recent scientific testing shows that Dalmatian Stone is much softer than Jasper and it is a mixture of minerals. The types of minerals in the rock are those that crystallize from a melt. So, instead of being a jasper, Dalmatian Stone is an igneous rock. Igneous rocks (from the Latin word for fire) form when hot, molten rock crystallizes and solidifies.
