Amethyst Agate Galaxy 3.325 Pounds Standing 5" Geode, Pink Purple

I'm so in love with this special specimen. It's like Amethyst is giving a big hug to Agate. The Amethyst color is so hard to describe with one name. You can see as the Agate gives way to Amethyst that the color is a quartzy salmon pink color that shifts to the crystals that are more purple on the surface. So what you get is the underneath pink crystals influencing the top purple crystals. As you look at this piece the color shifts from dusty pink to lilac, to lavender, to mauve, to dusty rose, and on and on. It truly is magnificent.

This piece has two flat sides so you can stand it tall or lay it flat on the agate. It is just under 5" tall and weighs 3.325 pounds (1508 grams or 1.5 kilograms). I like to stand it tall so that way you get the full three-dimensional view of the Amethyst and the Agate. 

Galaxy Amethyst is a trade name and not a geological name that refers to Uruguayan Amethysts known for their sugar-like druzy (also spelled druse) that are found in a plethora of colors, often colliding with one another forming very galactic-looking clusters, hence the name - Galaxy Amethyst.
